Everyone knows a girl whose cool factor is cranked up so high they are just a teensy bit on the scary side. We have to admit that before we came face-to-face with Gossip Girl’s ‘don’t-mess-with-me-or-I’ll-give-you-death-stares’ star Taylor Momsen we were totally expecting her to be a major diva. But y’know what? We were SO wrong. Of course she has edginess and attitude by the bucketload, but she’s also sweet, girlie and very adorable too.
She looks so sweet! Doesn’t she?

With her provocative look and raw rock sound, Taylor Momsen is heating up the pages of this month’s SPIN — and our video cameras were there as Dan Martensen photographed the Gossip Girl star and Pretty Reckless frontwoman for our exclusive spread. Watch the video below!
While on set, we caught Taylor posing for the camera, and asked her to sit down for a short interview, in which she talked about rock’n'roll, and her eye-catching style choices.
“I dress in a certain fashion that I feel good in, and confident in, and purveys an image that everyone can interpret differently,” she said. “But when I put it on, I feel good in it, and that’s what matters… My goal isn’t to shock.
“I hope that people can relate to the record,” she added. “There is an image that goes along with that, but I hope that’s not all they see.”
Momsen also talked about her first rock concert — a White Stripes gig: “I’d been listening to rock records, but I’d only seen a Britney Spears concert before that. So it was the first rock show I’d seen, and it was the first point where I was like, ‘I wanna do that.’”
Yay! As you might know, Taylor did on June 21 a fucking gorgeous photoshoot for ‘Spin’ Magazine(September issue) and here are the first pictures of this adorable set! She looks truly flawless! Before Taylor Momsen hit the road with her band, The Pretty Reckless, for this summer’s Warped Tour, she stopped by the MTV.com studios to chat about her style. After all, her look comes under fire pretty often, whether she’s wearing T-shirts as dresses with garter belts or clear heels with tip jars in the platforms. Sure, mimicking her style isn’t appropriate for school or the office (at all), but we’ve got some serious admiration for her look. Why? Because this girl doesn’t apologize for who she is, what she looks like, or how she acts. She’s does what she wants and she’s confident. That’s pretty rare as a teenager (or an adult, for that matter) — and her 17th birthday is Monday. RESPECT, girl.
